Staff
PC Activity & Remote Control Manager
The
PC Activity Manager is the only interface that
the library’s public-service staff needs to
learn with SAM. This powerful interface enables
staff to access specified patron data, record
payments, view all current computer activity
and waiting lists and control a full range of
functions over the public-use computers all
from the convenience of their desk.
Other
customer service functions from the staff desk
include the ability to log people on and off,
send messages, extend time or end a session,
close a browser or shut down the PC.
With
the PC Activity Manager’s “Visitor Card” button,
staff can effortlessly issue time-limited cards
to library visitors.
Centralized
Web-based Administration
The
state-of-the-art architecture that SAM has been
built upon allows it to be configured conveniently
through the Internet. This means it can be maintained
from anywhere, at anytime. SAM’s architecture
also allows client workstations to automatically
