Staff - PC Activity Manager
The PC Activity Manager is the only interface that the library's public-service staff needs to learn with SAM. This powerful interface enables staff to access specified patron data, record fine/fee payments, view all current computer activity and waiting lists and control a full range of functions over the public-use computers all from the convenience of their desk. Other customer service functions from the PC Activity Manager include the ability to log people on and off, send messages to specific PCs, extend time or end a session, close a browser or shut down/restart a PC. With the PC Activity Manager's "Visitor Card" button, staff can effortlessly issue time-limited cards to library visitors. Visitor cards are good for one day and can have their own session policies, print policies, or can be treated as a regular patron.
Centralized, Web-based AdministrationSAM's state-of-the-art architecture allows it to be configured conveniently through the Internet while maintaining a high level of security.
